Philosophy of care

La Clinique des femmes de l’Outaouais has a feminist philosophy based on free choice and contributes to the defense of this right for every person. This philosophy is characterized by the valorization of individual potential, the freedom to control your own body, empowerment, equality and social justice. The Clinic welcomes a diversity of people expressed in differences of age, belief, origin, social class, education, health condition, sexual orientation and gender identity.

The Clinic and its members reject all forms of discrimination and oppression, whether it comes from religious influence, from violence against women or against individuals who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and from all the social, racial and economic inequalities that persist in our society.

The Clinic collaborates with other organizations in order to put an end to the taboos and myths surrounding abortion and free choice. All our services are confidential, safe and compassionate. We believe in a holistic approach to healthcare. Not only are the needs and well-being of our clients at the heart of our intervention, but their choices and preferences are respected.

Our philosophy of intervention is represented in the form of 4 main principles:

  • To welcome each person unconditionally, by recognizing and respecting their reality.
  • To support people in their choices and their journey.
  • To ensure accessibility to our services.
  • To adapt our services and work tools to the needs of each individual.
